Wendy Sledd is the reigning Mrs. Germany Galaxy and will represent
Deutschland in the international pageant in the summer of 2006. Wendy is married to US Army officer, Lieutenant Colonel
Keith Sledd, who commands the 299th Forward Support Battalion in Schweinfurt, Germany.
Wendy served on US Secretary of Defense Don Rumsfeld's
"Operation Tribute to Freedom" spokespanel speaking across the nation about paying tribute to our country's soldiers and their
sacrifices. Wendy was the only military spouse in the nation to be selected for the spokespanel.
Wendy has been involved with the March of Dimes for more
than 30 years. Her efforts have raised more than $1 million for the organization. Wendy is also a survivor
of cancer (cervical) and child abuse. She is an advocate for the American Cancer Society and CASA (an organization
that speaks on behalf of children experiencing child abuse). She is a recipient of the Pageantry Magazine Spirit Award.
Wendy has an award-winning
career as a journalist interviewing former President Bill Clinton, Secretary of State Madeline Albright, Joint Chiefs of Staff
General John Shalikashvelli, and Miss America Heather Whitestone. She has appeared
on Good Morning, America and the Today Show.
Wendy is strong in
her Christian beliefs and credits God for her opportunities to serve as a role model. Wendy has held many other
state titles in the United States. Wendy and her husband, Keith, have one daughter, 23 year old Jennifer.
